Reading03

Week 3 reading was taken up a good bit of time between reading and doing the research that related to my topic. My topic is Game streaming and I am looking into 'why are some games more popular to stream than others?'.  I went back over my matrix to help me and back over my research from the previous weeks. In my matrix, I had linked some books that I found useful on my topic.  For example, 'Make money gaming: How to earn money from live streaming' By Noob Flanagan. When I  found this book I couldn't get access to it so next week I plan to make a trip to the college library.  Another book I found and want to look into more is 'Watch me play: Twitch and the rise of game live streaming' by T.L Taylor. This book I do have access to and I got to have a brief read-through. personally, I find it better to just google information rather than hunt down books and read pages upon pages. Unity Tutorial 02

For this week when I was working on the tutorial, I was able to work my way through the instructors rather easily because I was more used to using unity from the previous week. This week we had to decorate the world. Decorating the world and adding in objects was the task for today. While adding a bit of interaction into the world.  I first added in the metal cube. Following the instructions, In unity, I was able to allow the character, Ruby to hide behind the cube and stand in front of the cube also.  Here Is a screenshot of what I am currently working on with the video game. On the Blogs, I'll continue to post my progress with screenshot and descriptions.

This option had 4 tasks to do for the first week.  I linked up with two of my mates who also chose the 2D dev game. We spent 3hours in teams working on all the tasks. Even though it took us a long length of time to complete the tasks, it was worth it in the end. The end goal of the task was to get ruby to move from side to side and up and down. We accessed control of the character, we started to build the world using the tiles. I downloaded Microsoft visual studio which is what I had to use to get the character moving. It was my first time using Microsoft visual studios, and it is a coding app to program video games and activate the action.  For this game, I look forward to seeing the final result as Last semester I did not complete a video game of my own so that'll be the first. Video games aren't really my thing but It is part o
